George Marich
George Marich (born 11 July 1992 in Kroonstad, South Africa) is a South African rugby union player who last played with the . His regular position is tighthead prop. Career Youth and Varsity Shield rugby Marich played his high school rugby for Kroonstad-based high school Die Afrikaanse Hoërskool Kroonstad (Rooiskool). In 2010, while still at school, he was included in the side that played in the 2010 Under-19 Provincial Championship, making five appearances. Still eligible for the U19s in 2011, he started all eight of their matches during the 2011 Under-19 Provincial Championship, helping the win Group B, the second tier of this competition, beating 21–10 in the final in Wellington. He also played in the subsequent promotion/relegation match against as the Griffons lost 18–14 and failed to win promotion to Group A. Kroonstad
Kroonstad (Afrikaans directly translated "Crown City") is the third largest city in the Free State (after Bloemfontein and Welkom) and lies two hours' drive on the N1 from Gauteng. Maokeng is an area within Kroonstad, and is occasionally used as a synonym of the town itself. It is the second-largest commercial and urban centre in the Northern Free State (after Welkom), and an important railway junction on the main line from Cape Town to Johannesburg. ''Maokeng'' is Sesotho and means "place of the thorn trees (mimosa trees)". History Kroonstad was established in 1855 by the Irish pioneer Joseph Orpen, and was the first founded after the independence of the Orange Free State. While ' means "crown", this was in fact the name of a horse that had drowned in the nearby ford. Castres Olympique () is a French rugby union club located in the Occitanian city of Castres and is currently competing in the top level of the French league system.
