George Lowden (footballer)
George Lowden (born 2 March 1933) is an English former professional footballer who played in the Football League for Brentford as a left back. Career Lowden began his career as an amateur in the reserve team at Brentford and signed professionally for the club in 1953, after completing his National Service in Egypt. He made his debut in a 4–1 Second Division defeat to Doncaster Rovers on 10 September 1953. He managed only 29 senior appearances for the Bees in eight years at Griffin Park Griffin Park was a football ground in Brentford in the London Borough of Hounslow, England. It was the home ground of Brentford F.C. from its opening in September 1904 to August 2020. Isleworth ( ) is a town located within the London Borough of Hounslow in West London, England. It lies immediately east of the town of Hounslow and west of the River Thames and its tributary the River Crane, London, River Crane. Football League Third Division South
The Third Division South of The Football League was a tier in the English football league system from 1921 to 1958. It ran in parallel with the Third Division North with clubs elected to the League or relegated from Division Two allocated to one or the other according to geographical position. Some clubs in the English Midlands shuttled between the Third Division South and the Third Division North according to the composition of the two leagues in any one season. This division was created in 1921 from the Third Division, formed one year earlier when the Football League absorbed the leading clubs from the Southern League.
