George LeMaire
George LeMaire, born Meyer Goldstick, was a vaudeville comedian who appears in several films and worked as a director and producer for Pathé before his death in 1930. He was a "veteran straght man" who worked in comedy duos. His comedy partners included Eddie Cantor, Joe Phillips, and Louis Simon. Rufus LeMaire was his brother. On January 20, 1930, he died from a heart attack. Louis Simon (comedian)
Louis Simon was a vaudeville comedian. He performed an act called The New Coachman with Grace Gardner for years. Their raucous show caused some controversy. Pierrot Film Company was established in 1914 to make Simon's films. ''The Index'' called his act one of the funniest on stage. Simon made many short films in 1914 and 1915. Simon organized the Vaudeville Comedy Club to advocate for performers. He also performed with Kathryn Osterman. George LeMaire partnered with him in five comedy film shorts before LeMaire reunited with Joe Phillips. ''The Dream Girl'' is an operetta in three acts with music by Victor Herbert and book by Rida Johnson Young (who also wrote the lyrics) and Harold Atteridge. Based on the 1906 play ''The Road to Yesterday'', by Beulah Marie Dix and Evelyn Greenleaf Sutherland, its satiric story concerns reincarnation. Additional music was written by Sigmund Romberg.
