George Landseer
George Landseer (1829–1878 London) was a British painter. He was the nephew of Sir Edwin Henry Landseer and his father Thomas Landseer was also an artist. He studied at the Royal Academy Schools in 1846 and exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1850 until 1858 before establishing a practice in India painting landscapes and portraits in oil and watercolour.Victoria and Albert Museum: https://collections.vam.ac.uk/name/landseer-george/12066/ He returned to England in about 1870 and gave up painting due to poor health. Sir Edwin Henry Landseer
Sir Edwin Henry Landseer (7 March 1802 – 1 October 1873) was an English painter and sculptor, well known for his paintings of animals – particularly horses, dogs, and stags. However, his best-known works are the lion sculptures at the base of Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square. Life Landseer was born in London, the son of the engraver John Landseer A.R.A. and Jane Potts. He was something of a prodigy whose artistic talents were recognised early on. He studied under several artists, including his father, and the history painter Benjamin Robert Haydon, who encouraged the young Landseer to perform dissections in order to fully understand animal musculature and skeletal structure. Landseer's life was entwined with the Royal Academy. At the age of just 13, in 1815, he exhibited works there as an “Honorary Exhibitor”. Thomas Landseer
Thomas Landseer (1793 or 1794 – 20 January 1880) was a British artist best known for his engravings and etchings, particularly those of paintings by his youngest brother Edwin Landseer. Life Landseer was born in London, the eldest of the fourteen children of actress Jane Potts and engraver John Landseer. Seven of the children survived to adulthood and all became artists; his younger brothers were painters and later Royal Academicians Charles Landseer and Edwin Landseer. Like his father, Thomas was deaf. He was the only sibling to marry, his wife's name was Belinda. His son George Landseer became a portrait and landscape painter. Like his siblings, Landseer was taught artistic techniques by his father. He then studied under painter Benjamin Robert Haydon alongside his brother Charles and William Bewick. Highgate Cemetery is a place of burial in north London, England. There are approximately 170,000 people buried in around 53,000 graves across the West and East Cemeteries. Highgate Cemetery is notable both for some of the people buried there as well as for its ''de facto'' status as a nature reserve.
