George Ladd (Medal Of Honor Recipient)
George Ladd (1828 or 1829 – August 13, 1889) was a private in the Union Army and a Medal of Honor recipient for his role in the American Civil War. At the age of 35, Ladd enlisted in the Army from Camillus, New York in January 1864. He mustered out with his regiment in August 1865. Medal of Honor citation Rank and organization: Private, Company H, 22d New York Cavalry. Place and date: At Waynesboro, Va., March 2, 1865. Entered service at: Carmillus, Onondaga County, N.Y. Camillus is a town in Onondaga County, New York, United States. The population was 24,167 at the 2010 census. The Town of Camillus is west of Syracuse. There is also a village named Camillus in the town. Much of the town is a western suburb of Syracuse. The United States Army Center of Military History (CMH) is a directorate within the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command. The Institute of Heraldry remains within the Office of the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army. The center is responsible for the appropriate use of history and military records throughout the United States Army.
