George Kinderdine
George Henry "Hobby" Kinderdine (August 13, 1894 – June 22, 1967) was an American football Center (gridiron football), center and Guard (American football), guard who played fourteen seasons for the Dayton Triangles of the Ohio League and National Football League. He also played with his two brothers, Walt Kinderdine, Walt and Shine Kinderdine, Harry "Shine". Kinderdine was born on August 13, 1894, in Miamisburg, Ohio. He started his career in 1915 with the Dayton Gym-Cadets (later known as the Triangles). He missed the 1916 season but returned in 1917 and started all 8 games. He would play with them every game for the next 12 seasons, starting all but one game. He finished his career with 101 games played. Kinderdine also was the first person in NFL history to kick an extra point. After his career he was the coach of a Miamisburg team. He died on June 22, 1967, at the age of 72. Center or Centre (C) is a position in gridiron football. The center is the innermost Lineman (American football), lineman of the offensive line on a football team's Offense (sports), offense. The center is also the player who passes (or "Snap (gridiron football), snaps") the ball between his legs to the quarterback at the start of each Play from scrimmage, play. The importance of centers for a football team has increased, due to the re-emergence of 3–4 defenses.
