George Hatcher Band
The George Hatcher Band is an American Southern Rock band formed by vocalist/songwriter George Hatcher (born March 8, 1947, in Bennettsville, South Carolina) after moving to England in the summer of 1975. Between 1976 and 1985, the group released 5 studio albums and one live in-studio EP. Their first three releases were produced by Tom Allom and issued on United Artists. After a hiatus, Hatcher reformed the band with new members in the 2000s. Biography Before forming the group, vocalist George Hatcher was a member of Asheville, North Carolina, band, Flatrock, who recorded two albums for North Carolina-based label, King Records, with producer Shadow Morton. Neither album was released and because of contractual problems, Flatrock broke up and Hatcher travelled to the UK. Darryl Way
Richard Darryl Way (born 17 December 1948 in Taunton, Somerset, England) is an English rock and classical musician who was a founding member of Curved Air and co-writer of their Progressive Rock seminal albums from 1970 to 1976. He is best known as a violinist although he also plays keyboards. Biography He began his musical training at Dartington College of Arts, and later studied at the Royal College of Music. Barnes () is a district in south London, part of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, England. Olympic Studios was a renowned British independent commercial recording studio based in Barnes, London. Pedal Steel Guitar
The pedal steel guitar is a Console steel guitar, console-type of steel guitar with pedals and knee levers that change the pitch of certain strings to enable playing more varied and complex music than any previous steel guitar design. Like all steel guitars, it can play unlimited glissando, glissandi (sliding notes) and deep vibrato, vibrati—characteristics it shares with the human voice. Pedal steel is most commonly associated with American country music and Music of Hawaii, Hawaiian music. Pedals were added to a lap steel guitar in 1940, allowing the performer to play a major scale without moving the Steel bar, bar and also to push the pedals while striking a chord, making passing notes slur or bend up into harmony with existing notes. John McFee (born September 9, 1950, Santa Cruz, California) is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist, and long-time member of The Doobie Brothers. Wessex Sound Studios was a recording studio located at 106a Highbury New Park, London, England. Many renowned popular music artists recorded there, including Sex Pistols, King Crimson, the Clash, Theatre of Hate, XTC, the Sinceros, Queen, Talk Talk, the Rolling Stones, Pete Townshend, Team Dokus and The Damned. Dingwalls
Dingwalls was a live music and comedy venue adjacent to Camden Lock, Camden, London, England. The building itself is one of many industrial Victorian buildings that were put to new use in the 20th century. The original owner of the building, T.E. Dingwall, had his name painted on to the outside wall of the building, which was a common practice by businesses in Camden Town during the late Victorian era. The paint is still visible to this day, hence the venue's name. The 500-capacity venue was bought by promoter Vince Power in June 2020 and continues to host gigs of contemporary music. It was renamed and reopened as The PowerHaus after a copyright issue blocked the use of its original name.
