George Glover (cricketer)
George Keyworth Glover (13 May 1870 – 15 November 1938) was a South African cricketer who played in one Test in 1896. Glover was born in Yorkshire, and his family moved to South Africa when he was young. A middle-order batsman and off-spin bowler, he was a prominent player in Currie Cup cricket for Griqualand West in the 1890s. In Griqualand West's victory over Eastern Province in 1893–94 he took 8 for 35 and 7 for 33, bowling unchanged through both innings. He captained Griqualand West in 1896–97 and 1897–98, taking 4 for 50 and 6 for 49 when they beat Border in 1897–98. In the loss to Western Province in 1892-93 he scored 78 (his highest score) and 27 and took 3 for 82 and 5 for 94. He toured England on South Africa's tour in 1894, when no first-class matches were played, scoring 377 runs at an average of 13.96 and taking 56 wickets at 17.71. George Glover (active 1625–1650) was an English engraver, working in the reign (1625-1649) of Charles I. He mainly worked for London publishers, including Robert Peake, Thomas Banks, John Hinde and Peter Stent. He also self-published a plate of Queen Henrietta Maria, after a painting by Van Dyck. Works Glover worked somewhat in the manner of John Payne. George Glover was an Anglican priest, Archdeacon of Sudbury from his installation on 21 July 1823 until his death on 4 May 1862. Glover was born on 26 April 1779 and educated at Brasenose College, Oxford, where he matriculated in 1797 and graduated in 1801. George Glover Campbell
George Glover Campbell (2 March 1887 – 3 September 1967) was an Australian politician who represented the Electoral district of Hamilton from 1950 till 1959 for the Labor Party. Early life Born in England to parents Isaac Campbell, a grocer, and Susannah Patterson, Campbell Jr arrived in Australia in 1905. He lived at Drummoyne and worked in Sydney harbour shipyards. He moved to Newcastle in 1907, and was employed in State Dockyard at Walsh Island. He remained at the dockyards until being employed in parliament. Political career Campbell was President of Merewether branch and of Hamilton state electorate council for some years. He was an Alderman on Merewether council. He contested the hard Labor seat of Electoral district of Hamilton at the 1950 state election and won.
