George E. Loyau
George Ettienne Loyau (15 April 1835 – 23 April 1898) was an English-born traveller, poet and historian in Australia, best known as the author and editor of ''Notable South Australians''. History Loyau was born in London, a son of George Ettienne Loyau and Catharine Loyau, née Chanson,J. H. Love, 'Loyau, George Ettienne (1835–1898)', Australian Dictionary of Biography, National Centre of Biography, Australian National University, http://adb.anu.edu.au/biography/loyau-george-ettienne-4044/text6433, published first in hardcopy 1974. Retrieved 24 October 2017. and emigrated to Australia aboard ''Investigator'', arriving in Sydney in August 1853; according to his own accounts despatched by his mother, who was related to the Earl of Chichester.
