George Dunning
George Garnett Dunning (November 17, 1920 – February 15, 1979) was a Canadian filmmaker and animator. He is known for animating and directing the 1968 film inspired by the Beatles, '' Yellow Submarine''. Biography Dunning was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and studied in at the Ontario College of Art, and soon found freelance work as an illustrator. Dunning joined the National Film Board of Canada in 1943, where he worked with Norman McLarenRosenthal, Alan. ''The new documentary in action: a casebook in film making''. Richard Williams (animator)
Richard Edmund Williams (March 19, 1933 – August 16, 2019) was a Canadian-British animator, voice actor, director, and writer, best known for serving as animation director on ''Who Framed Roger Rabbit'' (1988), for which he won two Academy Awards, and for his unfinished feature film ''The Thief and the Cobbler'' (1993). He was also a film title sequence designer and animator. Other works in this field include the title sequences for ''What's New Pussycat?'' (1965) and '' A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum'' (1966) and title and linking sequences in ''The Charge of the Light Brigade'' and the intros of the eponymous cartoon feline for two of the later ''Pink Panther'' films. ''Vision On'' was a British children's television programme, shown on BBC1 from 1964 to 1976 and designed specifically for children with hearing impairment. Concept and production ''Vision On'' was conceived and developed by BBC producers Ursula Eason and Patrick Dowling to replace a monthly series ''For Deaf Children'' (1952–64), a programme paced slowly enough for children to read captions and subtitles. It was noted in surveys that a favourite for deaf children was ''Top of the Pops'', due to its lively and fast-moving format and that even the profoundly deaf could still enjoy the music's lower frequency notes. ''A Shot in the Dark'' is a 1964 comedy film directed by Blake Edwards in Panavision. It is the second installment in ''The Pink Panther'' film series, with Peter Sellers reprising his role as Inspector Jacques Clouseau of the French Sûreté. Clouseau's blundering personality is unchanged, but it was in this film that Sellers began to give him the idiosyncratically exaggerated French accent that was to later become a hallmark of the character. The film also marks the first appearances of Herbert Lom as his long-suffering boss, Commissioner Dreyfus, as well as André Maranne as Dreyfus's assistant François and Burt Kwouk as Clouseau's stalwart manservant Cato, all three of whom would become series regulars. ''The Beatles'' (also referred to as "The Beatles Cartoon") was a Saturday morning animated television series featuring representations of the popular English rock band of the same name. It was originally broadcast from 1965 to 1967 on ABC in the United States, with repeats airing until 1969. The series debuted on 25 September 1965 and new episodes ended on 21 October 1967. A total of 39 episodes were produced. The series was shown on Saturdays at 10:30 AM EST until the 1967 third season when it was moved to 12:00 PM EST. For the 1968–69 fourth season, which consisted of repeats, the series was shown at 9:30 AM EST on Sundays.
