George Dunbar Moore
Rear Admiral George Dunbar Moore, (10 October 1893 – 27 July 1979) was a senior commander in the Royal Australian Navy and a diplomat. Moore was appointed Australia's first Minister to the Philippines in 1950, leaving his position as naval flag officer in charge of Sydney to take up the post in Manila Manila ( , ; fil, Maynila, ), officially the City of Manila ( fil, Lungsod ng Maynila, ), is the capital of the Philippines, and its second-most populous city. Springsure
Springsure is a town and a Suburbs and localities (Australia), locality in the Central Highlands Region, Queensland, Australia. It is south of Emerald, Queensland, Emerald on the Gregory Highway. It is the southern terminus of the Gregory Highway and the northern terminus of the Dawson Highway. It is northwest of Brisbane. At the , Springsure had a population of 950 people. Geography Today, Springsure is a pastoral settlement serving cattle farms, and sunflower, sorghum, wheat and chickpea plantations. Keith Waller
Sir (John) Keith Waller (19 February 191414 November 1992) was a senior Australian public servant and diplomat. Life and career Keith Waller was born in Melbourne in 1914. He was educated at Scotch College and the University of Melbourne. Waller joined the Commonwealth Public Service in 1936, in the Department of External Affairs. In 1937 he was appointed Private Secretary to Billy Hughes, then Minister for External Affairs. His career proved to be long and successful, establishing himself as a successful diplomat across a number of postings, including to Moscow, Washington and Bangkok. In 1943 whilst senior officer to the Australian Legation at Chungking, Waller married Alison Dent in Bombay, India. Waller was Australian Consul-General in Manila from 1948 to 1950. Sir Keith Charles Owen "Mick" Shann (22 November 1917 – 4 August 1988) was a senior Australian public servant and diplomat. Life and career Mick Shann was born in the Melbourne suburb of Kew, Victoria, on 22 November 1917. His father was Frank Shann, a respected teacher and headmaster. He studied arts at the University of Melbourne, where he was in residence at Trinity College from 1936 to 1936, winning the Alcock Scholarship. Shann's first Commonwealth Public Service positions were at the Bureau of Census and Statistics in 1939 and the Department of Labour and National Service from 1940 to 1946. In 1946, he moved to the Department of External Affairs in Canberra to take up an appointment as second secretary of the United Nations Division in the department.
