George Duffield
__NOTOC__ George Duffield MBE (born 30 November 1946) is an English retired flat racing jockey. He served a seven-year apprenticeship with Jack Waugh, and rode his first winner on 15 June 1967 at Great Yarmouth Racecourse on a horse called Syllable, trained by Waugh. He became stable jockey for trainer John Oxley in 1970, but this was not to be a successful partnership, and they split in 1972. After riding freelance for a bit, he was to become first jockey to trainer Sir Mark Prescott in 1974, a partnership which was to prove most enduring and fruitful. George Duffield spent 30 years as stable jockey to Prescott, riding 830 winners for him, including successes in Ireland, France and Belgium. Duffield was a journeyman jockey for a great part of his career, but he became much better known in 1992 thanks to the exploits of the three-year-old filly User Friendly, trained by Clive Brittain, also at Newmarket, User Friendly gave Duffield his first 'Classic' success when winning ... ''Rawhide'' is an American Western TV series starring Eric Fleming and Clint Eastwood. The show aired for eight seasons on the CBS network on Friday nights, from January 9, 1959, to September 3, 1965, before moving to Tuesday nights from September 14, 1965, until December 7, 1965, with a total of 217 black-and-white episodes. The series was produced and sometimes directed by Charles Marquis Warren, who also produced early episodes of '' Gunsmoke''. The show is fondly remembered by many for its theme, " Rawhide". George Duffield (minister, Born 1732)
George Duffield (October 7, 1732February 2, 1790) was a leading eighteenth-century Presbyterian minister. He was born in Lancaster County, Province of Pennsylvania in 1732. In 1779, Duffield was elected a member of the American Philosophical Society. Education and preparation for the ministry George Duffield was first educated at Newark Academy in Delaware. He trained at the College of New Jersey (now Princeton), and graduated in 1752. He did personal study and ministerial preparation in theology with the guidance of Dr. Robert Smith, of Pequea, Pennsylvania. His ordination to Presbyterian ministry led him to serve three churches in central Pennsylvania in Carlisle, Newville, and Dillsburg. Carlisle, Pennsylvania Duffield moved to Carlisle, Pennsylvania in 1757, and ministered to multiple churches until 1772. He was known to be an ardent and animated preacher. George Duffield (minister, Born 1794)
George Duffield (July 4, 1794 - June 26, 1868) was a leading nineteenth-century New School Presbyterian minister who bore the same name as his father and grandfather. His evolution from unconventional doctrinal leanings to more orthodox and standard ones typified the moderation on both sides which led to reunion with the Old School Presbyterians in 1870. Duffield's grandfather, George Duffield II, had been Chaplain of the Continental Congress. Born July 4, 1794, in Strasburg, Pennsylvania, to a second George Duffield and his wife Faithful Slaymaker (a younger sister of Amos Slaymaker). He was the father of William Ward Duffield, Henry M. Duffield, and George Duffield V. Duffield graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1811. He studied theology in New York City under the preceptorship of John M.
