George Bryan (businessperson)
George Herbert Hamilton Bryan OBE (9 April 1921 – 20 September 2013) was a British businessman who was the managing director of the then Drayton Manor Resort, Drayton Manor Theme Park. He founded the company with his wife Vera Bryan, Vera, in 1949. Career highlights Entertainment Industry George Bryan worked alongside his father, William Bryan, a decorated First World War pilot, to help reestablish his amusement park, after it had been closed down for the war. His father was one of the country's biggest inventors and manufacturers of mechanical coin-operated amusement machines. These included "Nudist Colony" (or the "Live Peep Show"). Mr Bryan was determined to establish a business of his own, and set about purchasing land with his wife Vera, to form their own attraction. Kegworth
Kegworth () is a large village and civil parish in the North West Leicestershire district of Leicestershire, in the East Midlands region, England. It forms part of the border with Nottinghamshire and is situated 6 miles north of Loughborough, 12 miles southwest of Nottingham, 12.5 miles southeast of Derby and 17 miles north of Leicester. The population of Kegworth census was 3,601. Vera Florence Alice Bryan (9 June 1917 – 16 October 2013) was a British businessperson who was the co-founder and a director of the then Drayton Manor Resort, Drayton Manor Theme Park. She co-founded the company with her husband George, in 1949.
