George Brock (journalist)
George Brock (born 7 November 1951) is a professor of journalism at City, University of London. He held the position of head of department from September 2009 to September 2014. Career After beginning his career in 1973 as a reporter for the ''Yorkshire Evening Press'', Brock was a journalist for ''The Observer'' (1976–1981) and ''The Times'' (1981–2008), where he held positions from foreign correspondent to managing editor. Yorkshire Evening Press
''The Press'' is a local, daily, paid for, newspaper, for North and East Yorkshire. It is published in the York, City of York by Newsquest, Newsquest Media Group Ltd, a subsidiary of Gannett, Gannett Company Inc. The ''Yorkshire Evening Press'' was established in 1882. It changed from broadsheet to Compact (newspaper), compact format in 2004 and shortly afterwards dropped "Yorkshire" from the title. Morning printing began on 24 April 2006, and the paper was given its present name. William Wallace Hargrove printed at 9 Coney Street. Newsprint, Paper was delivered by barge along the River Ouse, Yorkshire, River Ouse. In 1989, publication moved to Walmgate.
