George Best – A Tribute is a single released by Brian Kennedy and Peter Corry as a tribute to former Northern Irish professional footballer George Best. Brian Kennedy (singer)
Brian Edward Patrick Kennedy (born 12 October 1966) is a Northern Irish singer. He scored a number of hit singles and albums in the UK and Ireland during the 1990s and 2000s. He represented Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 and finished in 10th place. Brian is the younger brother of the late musician Bap Kennedy. Career Kennedy made his debut in 1988 as a chorus on the recordings of Van Morrison, a Northern Irish singer-songwriter. Peter Corry is a Northern Irish singer, director, producer and actor. As a performer Corry has been cast in productions of ''Così fan tutte'', ''The Marriage of Figaro,'' '' Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street'', ''On Eagle's Wing'', ''The Last Five Years'', ''Chess, The Beggar's Opera'', and ''The Crocodile.'' George Best
George Best (22 May 1946 – 25 November 2005) was a Northern Irish professional footballer who played as a winger, spending most of his club career at Manchester United. A highly skilful dribbler, Best is regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. "Vincent" is a song by Don McLean written as a tribute to Vincent van Gogh. It is often erroneously titled after its opening refrain, "Starry, Starry Night", a reference to Van Gogh's 1889 painting ''The Starry Night''. "You Raise Me Up" is a song originally composed by the Norwegian-Irish duo Secret Garden. The music was written by Secret Garden's Rolf Løvland, and the lyrics by Brendan Graham. After the song was performed early in 2002 by the Secret Garden and their invited lead singer, Brian Kennedy, the song only became a minor UK hit. The song has been recorded by more than a hundred other artists including American songwriter Josh Groban in 2003 and Irish boy band Westlife in 2005 whose versions were hits in their countries.
