George Albert Routledge
George Albert Routledge (June 22, 1855 – January 3, 1924) was a physician and politician in Ontario, Canada. He represented Middlesex East in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1902 to 1905 as a Ontario Liberal Party, Liberal. He was born in Lambeth, London, Ontario, Lambeth. Routledge practised medicine in Lambeth from 1875 to 1924. He also served as coroner for Middlesex County, Ontario, Middlesex County. He was married twice: first to Alice M. Best and, then in 1917, to Emily M. Morgan. Routledge died at home in Lambeth at the age of 68. A Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) is an elected member of the Legislative Assembly of the Canadian province of Ontario. Elsewhere in Canada, the titular designation "Member of Provincial Parliament" has also been used to refer to members of the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada from 1791 to 1838, and to members of the Legislative Assembly of Quebec from 1955 to 1968. Ontario The titular designation "Member of Provincial Parliament" and the acronym "MPP" were formally adopted by the Ontario legislature on April 7, 1938. Before the adoption of this resolution, members had no fixed designation. Prior to Confederation in 1867, members of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada had been known by various titles, including MPP, MLA and MHA.
