Georg Ackermann (athlete)
Georg Ackermann (born 13 July 1972 in Gernsbach, Baden-Württemberg) is a retired German long jumper. He won a bronze medal at the 1991 European Junior Championships, finished fourth at the 1995 World Championships and won a silver medal at the 1995 Summer Universiade with a personal best of 8.21 metres. Furthermore, he was a member of the German Olympic Team in Atlanta 1996. He represented the sports clubs LG Karlsruhe and TV Heppenheim, and became German champion in 1993 and 1995. His personal best jump of 8.21 metres ranks him tenth among German long jumpers, behind Lutz Dombrowski Lutz Dombrowski (born 25 June 1959) is a former German track and field athlete and Olympic champion. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross (german: Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes) and its variants were the highest awards in the military and paramilitary forces of Nazi Germany during World War II. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded for a wide range of reasons and across all ranks, from a senior commander for skilled leadership of his troops in battle to a low-ranking soldier for a single act of extreme gallantry. A total of 7,321 awards were made between its first presentation on 30 September 1939 and its last bestowal on 17 June 1945. This number is based on the acceptance of the Association of Knight's Cross Recipients (AKCR). Presentations were made to members of the three military branches of the Wehrmacht—the Heer (Army), Kriegsmarine (Navy) and Luftwaffe (Air Force)—as well as the Waffen-SS, the Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD—Reich Labour Service) and the Volkssturm (German national militia). Georg Christian Benedict Ackermann
Georg Christian Benedict Ackermann (3 March 1763 – 8 April 1833) was a German theologian and teacher. He was born in Vier (now part of Boizenburg) upon the river Elbe. He visited school in Schwerin in Mecklenburg, then in 1782 the University of Göttingen in Hanover to study theology. In 1792, Ackermann collaborated at the regional teacher seminary in Ludwigslust. Later, he became teacher of Frederick Louis, Duke of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Beck and controller of the court. In 1801 second preacher of the court, in 1808 superintendent in Schwerin and rector of the ''Domschule''. In 1819 councillor of the consistory, in 1830 first preacher of the court. Johann Adam Ackermann (November 3, 1780 – March 27, 1853) was a German landscape painter of the early 19th century. He was born in Mainz and moved to Frankfurt am Main in 1804. His best-known works are his winter landscapes and watercolours. He died in Frankfurt.
