Geordie Hormel
George "Geordie" Hormel (July 17, 1928 – February 12, 2006) was an American musician and recording studio proprietor. Early life and career Hormel was the son of Jay Catherwood Hormel and grandson of George A. Hormel, the founder of Hormel Foods. He claimed to have invented the corndog when he was a teenager growing up in Minnesota In the 1950s and 1960s, Hormel composed music for numerous television shows including '' The Fugitive'', ''Lassie'', '' Naked City'' and ''The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin''. He also sang as part of "The Utility Muffin Research Kitchen Chorus" on Frank Zappa's triple album ''Joe's Garage'' (1979). In 1968 he founded a major independent recording studio, The Village Recording Studio, in Los Angeles, of which he was proprietor until his death. Leslie Caron
Leslie Claire Margaret Caron (; born 1 July 1931) is a French-American actress and dancer. She is the recipient of a Golden Globe Award, two BAFTA Awards and a Primetime Emmy Award, in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards. Utility Muffin Research Kitchen
The Utility Muffin Research Kitchen (UMRK) is a recording studio built in 1979 by musician, composer, songwriter, and bandleader Frank Zappa at his home in Los Angeles, California. The home and recording studio has been owned by Lady Gaga since 2016. History Frank Zappa built the studio in his 6,759-square-foot home in Laurel Canyon, completing it on September 1, 1979. The studio was custom designed by Rudy Brewer with input from Zappa and his technical staff. The estimated construction costs ranged between $1.5 and $3.5 million. Soon after the studio was completed, Ken Scott engineered the four song debut EP by ''Missing Persons'' at UMRK. Hormel Foods Corporation is an American food processing company founded in 1891 in Austin, Minnesota, by George A. Hormel as George A. Hormel & Company. The company originally focused on the packaging and selling of ham, sausage and other pork, chicken, beef and lamb products to consumers, adding Spam in 1937. ''My Super Sweet 16'' is an American reality television series documenting the lives of teenagers, usually in the United States, Canada and United Kingdom, generally with wealthy parents who throw lavish, excessive and expensive coming-of-age celebrations. Parties include the ''quinceañera'' (a sweet 15), the sweet 16, and other birthdays including a My Super Sweet 21 (which was broadcast during MTV's Spring Break party) and My Super Swag 18. The Wrigley Mansion in Phoenix, Arizona, is a landmark building constructed between 1929 and 1931 by chewing-gum magnate William Wrigley Jr. It is also known as William Wrigley Jr. Winter Cottage and as La Colina Solana. Located at 2501 East Telewa Trail, it sits atop a knoll with views of greater Phoenix to the south, close to the Arizona Biltmore Hotel, which Wrigley owned. The Village (studio)
The Village (also known as Village Recorders, or the Village Recorder) is a recording studio located at 1616 Butler Avenue in West Los Angeles, California. History The building was built by the Freemasons in 1922 and was originally a Masonic temple. It remained that way until the 1960s, when Maharishi Mahesh Yogi used the building as a center for Transcendental Meditation. The temple was converted into a recording studio in 1968 by composer and meatpacking heir Geordie Hormel. The Village is home to a vintage Neve 8048 console as well as two Neve 88R consoles. The Village is renowned for its extensive inventory of vintage microphones and outboard gear. The studio also has Oscar Peterson's Steinway & Sons Model L, which Peterson used extensively from the 1940s through the 1980s.
