Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is an island state in the Windward Islands of the Lesser Antilles, an island arc of the Caribbean Sea in North America. The country consists of the main island of Saint Vincent and the northern two-thirds of the Grenadines, a chain of small islands stretching south from Saint Vincent to Grenada. Its total land area is 390 km2 of which 342.7 km2 is the main island of Saint Vincent. The country's capital is at Kingstown on Saint Vincent. Petite Mustique
Petite Mustique (also called Petit Mustique) is a small island in the Caribbean nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. About in size, Petite Mustique is located northeast of Savan and south of the larger island of Mustique. Petite Mustique is uninhabited and undeveloped. Sedimentary in nature, the island is hilly, reaching high, and has no easy landings or large beaches. Locally, the name of the island is pronounced "petty." Geography The island is just over 2 km south of Mustique's southernmost point. In between lies the tiny rocky land Petit Cay, which represents the continuation of the northwestern tip of the island. Mustique is a small private island in the nation of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, which is part of the Grenadines, a chain of islands in the West Indies. The island is located within Grenadines Parish, and the closest island is the uninhabited Petite Mustique, located to the south. Petit Nevis is a small, privately owned island in the Grenadines, off the coast of Bequia.Mapcarta, 2018Petit Nevis, St Vincent Accessed 2018-03-30. The island is uninhabited but is used by whalers to flense their catches. That practice is now limited by law to conserve the endangered whale population. It is part of the country of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and is approximately from the nation's capital, Kingstown, on the main island, Saint Vincent. Bequia means "island of the clouds" in the ancient Arawak. The island's name was also 'Becouya' as part of the Grenadines. Bequia has a history of whaling which was introduced by the Yankee whalers in the 19th century.
