Geoffrey Groselle
Geoffrey Groselle (born February 12, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for Legia Warszawa of the Polish Basketball League. A left-handed center, he played high school basketball at Plano West Senior High School, and four seasons in the NCAA Division I with the Creighton Bluejays. After going undrafted in the 2016 NBA draft, Groselle started a professional career in Europe with German team Löwen Braunschweig of the Basketball Bundesliga. In 2019 he won the bronze medal at the 2019 Pan American Games. High school career Groselle attended Plano West Senior High School in Plano, Texas, where he played alongside his older brother Mike, who graduated in 2009. In his sophomore year of high school, he was named Newcomer of the Year in his district. As a senior, he averaged 12.4 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.1 blocks, being named in the All-District and All-Area first teams. Polish Basketball League
Polska Liga Koszykówki (PLK) (English language, English: Polish Basketball League) is a professional men's club basketball list of basketball leagues, league in Poland. It constitutes the first and highest-tier level of the Polish basketball league system, Polish league pyramid. The winning team of the final round are crowned the Polish Champions of that season. It began in 1947–48, with the name of I Liga, and was originally organized by the Polish Basketball Federation. 2011–12 Creighton Bluejays Men's Basketball Team
The 2011–12 Creighton Bluejays men's basketball team represented Creighton University during the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bluejays, led by second year head coach Greg McDermott, played their home games at the CenturyLink Center Omaha (renamed from Qwest Center Omaha in the 2011 offseason) and are members of the Missouri Valley Conference. The conference season ended with 14–4 record, finishing in 2nd place, behind Wichita State. They finished the season 29–6, 14–4 in MVC play to finish in second place. They were champions of the Missouri Valley Basketball tournament to earn the conference's automatic bid into the 2012 NCAA tournament where they defeated Alabama in the first round before falling in the second round to North Carolina. Redshirt, in United States college athletics, is a delay or suspension of an athlete's participation in order to lengthen their period of eligibility. Typically, a student's athletic eligibility in a given sport is four seasons, aligning with the four years of academic classes typically required to earn a bachelor's degree at an American college or university. However, in a redshirt year, student athletes may attend classes at the college or university, practice with an athletic team, and "suit up" (wear a team uniform) for play – but they may compete in only a limited number of games (see " Use of status" section). Plano ( ) is a city in Collin County, Texas, Collin County and Denton County, Texas, United States. It had a population of 285,494 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. The Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) (English language: ''Federal Basketball League''), for sponsorship reasons named easyCredit BBL, is the highest level league of professional club basketball in Germany. The league comprises 18 teams. A BBL season is split into a league stage and a playoff stage. At the end of the league stage, the top eight teams qualify for the playoff stage, and the teams positioned in the 17th and 18th places are relegated to a lower-tier league. The playoffs are played in a "Best of five" format. The winning team of the final round are crowned the German Champions of that season.
