Geoffrey Thomas (academic)
Geoffrey Price Thomas FLSW (born 3 July 1941) was President of Kellogg College, Oxford, and Director of Oxford University Department for Continuing Education until 2008. He was educated at Maesteg Grammar School, University of Wales (Swansea) (BSc, (First Class Honours, Physics)) and Churchill College, Cambridge ( PhD). He is also a Master of Arts of the University of Oxford. Following one year as a research associate at the Cavendish Laboratory at the University of Cambridge (1966–67), he became a Staff Tutor at University College of Swansea (1967–78). In 1978 he moved to the University of Oxford as Fellow of Linacre College and Deputy Director of the Department of External Studies. In 1986 he became Director of Oxford University Department for Continuing Education. He remained a Fellow of Linacre until 1990, when he became the first President of Kellogg College and an Honorary Fellow of Linacre. Geoff Thomas (18 February 1948 – 13 January 2013) was a Welsh professional footballer who played for Swansea City, making 357 appearances in the Football League. He died on 13 January 2013. In addition to his career with Swansea, he spent time a month on loan at Manchester United in December 1973. Geoffrey Robert Thomas (born 5 August 1964) is an English former footballer, who won nine caps for the full England team and captained Crystal Palace to the FA Cup final in 1990. He is the Founder of the Geoff Thomas Foundation, a charity that raises funds to fight cancer, a disease from which Thomas has suffered. Club career After playing non-league football in his teenage years, Thomas gambled on a career in professional football in 1982 by taking a pay cut from his job as an electrician, to sign full-time with Rochdale in 1982. He did not play much whilst at Spotland, in the two seasons he spent at Rochdale he made only 12 appearances scoring just once. In March 1984, Dario Gradi signed Thomas for Crewe Alexandra, on a free transfer. After three substitute appearances, Thomas made his full debut on 28 April 1984 in a 3–0 home win over Tranmere Rovers, and marked the occasion with his first goal for the club. Geoff Thomas (pastor)
Hugh Geoffrey Thomas (born 15 October 1938 in Merthyr Tydfil) is a Welsh pastor. He was the pastor of Alfred Place Baptist Church for fifty years. Thomas studied at the University College of Cardiff and Westminster Theological Seminary. He is visiting professor of Historical Theology at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary. Thomas is a Reformed Baptist. In 2013, a ''Festschrift'' was prepared in his honour.
