Geoff Metcalf
Geoff Metcalf is an American author, writer, and columnist. He was a nationally syndicated radio talk show host based in Washington, D.C. He was the Editor of CalNews.com. Currently, Metcalf is a broadcasting consultant, and author. Biography Metcalf is a former Green Beret. He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the United States Army Reserves and has commanded a Special Forces Operational Detachment and a Military Police Company in addition to various staff positions. He was a columnist for the Sacramento Union and an editorial writer for the Evening Times in Rhode Island. Metcalf was also a program director and talk show host at WAAB 1440, in Worcester, MA. in the early 1970s. He served as general manager of a small radio station (WBVD) in Beverly, MA in the early 1980s. In the mid-1980s he was President of Wade Advertising in Sacramento, CA. Riverbank, California
Riverbank is a city in Stanislaus County, California, United States. The population was 24,623 at the 2020 census, up from 15,826 at the 2000 census. Incorporated on August 23, 1922, Riverbank's official slogan is "City of Action." It is part of the Modesto Metropolitan Statistical Area. Riverbank was founded as a ferry crossing, and was established as a town with the coming of the San Francisco and San Joaquin Valley Railroad, which was soon acquired by the Santa Fe Railroad. KTKZ (1380 AM, "The Answer") is a commercial radio station in Sacramento, California. It is one of four Sacramento-area radio stations owned by the Salem Media Group. KTKZ airs a conservative talk radio format, mostly featuring syndicated shows from the co-owned Salem Radio Network. KSTE (650 AM) is a commercial radio station broadcasting a talk radio format. Licensed to Rancho Cordova, California, the station serves the Sacramento metropolitan area. The station is owned by iHeartMedia and features shows from Westwood One, Radio America, Compass Media Networks, and Premiere Networks, a subsidiary of iHeartMedia. The studios and offices are in North Sacramento near the Arden Fair Mall. KSTE transmits with 21,400 watts by day, but because 650 AM is a clear channel frequency reserved for Class A WSM in Nashville, KSTE must reduce power at night to 920 watts to avoid interfering with WSM and other stations on its frequency. Considered a shock jock, his career has been well known for controversy and clashes with the Federal Communications Commission. Rantel's most recent contract was with KABC radio, Los Angeles, California. He retired for medical reasons in June, 2009.
