Geoff Bryan
Geoff Bryan (born 1956) is a New Zealand television broadcaster, currently a newsreader for MediaWorks Radio and one of the breakfast hosts on Magic. Career Bryan was born in Kent, England, and moved with his family to Australia first and then to Wellington when he was a child, in the late 1960s. He completed a degree in Political Science and History at Victoria University of Wellington, before working in radio, including as a DJ for 2ZM in Wellington in the late 1970s and 1980s. He progressed into television in 1982, and became a sports presenter for TVNZ in 1987. Bryan, along with Keith Quinn and John McBeth were laid off by TVNZ 2007, before the company invited all three to compete for a single vacancy in Auckland. He was the successful applicant and is still employed by TVNZ. Bryan was a newsreader for Radio Live but now reads for MagicTalk. ZM ( ) is a New Zealand contemporary hit radio network owned by New Zealand Media and Entertainment. It broadcasts 19 markets throughout mainland New Zealand via terrestrial FM, and worldwide via the Internet. The network targets the 15–39 demographic specialises in a chart-music playlist of pop, rock, hip hop and dance music. Keith Quinn (broadcaster)
Keith Quinn (born 1 September 1946) is an author, and one of New Zealand's most experienced television sports commentators. Early life Quinn was educated at Wellington College, leaving when he was 17 and after leaving school joined the state broadcaster the NZBC as a cadet in 1965. Quinn commentated his first game of rugby for radio at the last British Lions tour test in 1971, (the New Zealand v British Isles 4th test on 1ZB) and for television in 1973, a year after the NZ Rugby Football Union first allowed rugby games to be telecast live. His first test rugby call for TVNZ was New Zealand v England at Eden Park in 1973. Career He has also covered ten Olympic and ten Commonwealth Games from Munich 1972 - Rio 2016, and has commentated on everything from swimming, boxing, athletics, tennis and table tennis. John McBeth
John McBeth (born 31 May 1944) is an author and journalist from New Zealand, with the majority of his career spent in Southeast Asia. Early life and career McBeth is the son of Sandy McBeth, a Taranaki dairy farmer, and Isla Dickinson, and was born in Whanganui, New Zealand. He attended New Plymouth Boys' High School. McBeth commenced work at the ''Taranaki Herald'' on 8 February 1962 and moved to the ''Auckland Star'' in late 1965. Move to Southeast Asia McBeth left New Zealand around 1970 and headed for Fleet Street in London, but never made it there. The cargo vessel that he was aboard ran aground during its night-time entry into Tanjung Priok Harbour in Indonesia so he spent time in Jakarta before travelling to Singapore and on to Bangkok. Radio Live (stylised as Radio LIVE) was a nationwide Auckland-based New Zealand talkback, news and sport radio network owned and operated by MediaWorks New Zealand. It was formed by the 2005 split of talk and racing network Radio Pacific into a dedicated talk network which prioritised breaking news coverage (Radio Live) and a talk network which broadcast live horse racing and greyhound racing commentaries which initially retained the Radio Pacific name before a rebrand to Bsport and finally LiveSport. The Sound, earlier known as Solid Gold FM, is a New Zealand radio network owned by MediaWorks New Zealand. Solid Gold began broadcasting on 13 October 1997 and was rebranded as The Sound on 1 January 2012. The Sound has a classic rock format, playing "the greatest music of all time" from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
