The Gentleman (Gustav Fiers) is a fictional supervillain and an enemy of the Marvel Comics superhero Spider-Man. The character first appeared in a trilogy of ''Spider-Man'' novels written by Adam-Troy Castro before appearing within the comic books themselves. The Gentleman made his film debut in 2012 in ''The Amazing Spider-Man'', portrayed by actor Michael Massee, who reprised the role in the film's 2014 sequel ''The Amazing Spider-Man 2''. Publication history The Gentleman was introduced in Adam-Troy Castro's novel, '' Spider-Man: The Gathering of the Sinister Six''. His brother, Karl Fiers, murdered Spider-Man's parents. The Gentleman appears in the novels ''Spider-Man: Revenge of the Sinister Six'', and ''Spider-Man: Secret of the Sinister Six'', in which he was killed off. __NOTOC__ Adam-Troy Castro is a science fiction, fantasy, and horror writer living in Wildwood, Florida. He has more than one hundred stories to his credit and has been nominated for numerous awards, including the Hugo, Nebula, and Stoker. These stories include four ''Spider-Man'' novels, including the Sinister Six trilogy, and stories involving characters of Andrea Cort, Ernst Vossoff, and Karl Nimmitz. The Chameleon (Dmitri Smerdyakov; Russian: Дмитрий Смердяков) is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is the first ever adversary of the superhero Spider-Man, having debuted in the initial issue of ''The Amazing Spider-Man'' (March 1963). Norman Osborn is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character, created by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko, first appeared in ''The Amazing Spider-Man'' #14 (July 1964) as the first and best-known incarnation of the Green Goblin, as well as being generally regarded as the archenemy of Spider-Man, alongside Doctor Octopus and Venom.
