''Genghis Khan'' (or ''Ang Buhay ni Genghis Khan'') is a 1950 Filipino biopic film directed by Manuel Conde, based on the life of Mongol ruler and emperor Genghis Khan. It was the earliest film to depict the Khan's life. ''Genghis Khan'' is considered a classic, The film was given a technical achievement citation upon its debut at the 1952 Venice Film Festival. Manuel Conde
Manuel Conde (born Manuel Pabustan Urbano; October 9, 1915 – August 11, 1985) was a Filipino actor, director and producer. As an actor, he also used the screen name Juan Urbano during the 1930s aside from his more popular screen name. Early career His first film was ''Mahiwagang Biyolin'' in 1935. He made almost three dozen films under LVN Pictures as a contract star. Later career He later put up his own movie company, Manuel Conde Pictures, in 1947 which produced classic films, notably the ''Juan Tamad'' series (''Si Juan Tamad'' (1947), ''Si Juan Daldal (Anak ni Juan Tamad)'' (1948), ''Juan Tamad Goes to Congress'' (1959), ''Juan Tamad Goes to Society'' (1960), and ''Si Juan Tamad At Juan Masipag sa Pulitikang Walang Hanggan'' (1963)). Andres Centenera
Andrés Centenera (born 1914, date of death unknown) was a Filipino character actor. He was the grandfather of Filipino singer Rafael Centenera. He appeared in films from 1937 to 1979. Andres Centenera, born in Goa, Camarines Sur. He was the son of Doña Rita Garchitorena and Don Candido Garcia Centenera. He was the grandson of Don Andres Garchitorena, member of Aguinaldo's Hong Kong Junta and Governor of Ambos Camarines. In 1975, he was cast as the village chieftain in NV Productions' ''Banaue'' starring superstars Nora Aunor and Christopher de Leon. Centenera also worked as a boxing referee. Carlos Modesto "Botong" Villaluz Francisco (November 4, 1912 – March 31, 1969) was a Filipino muralist from Angono, Rizal. Early life Francisco was a most distinguished practitioner of mural painting for many decades and best known for his historical pieces. Calesa
A kalesa or calesa is a two-wheeled horse-drawn carriage used in the Philippines. It is commonly vividly painted and decorated. It was a primary mode of public and private transportation during the Spanish colonial era of the Philippines, though in modern times, they largely only survive as tourist attractions. History Kalesa (from the Spanish word calesa) were first introduced to the Philippines in the 1700s by the Spanish. It became the major public and private form of transport in the Philippines up until the early 20th century. It was also used to transport goods. They were manufactured by traditional workshops known as ''karoserya''. Use of the kalesa declined in the mid-20th century, when mass public transportation was largely taken over by motorized jeepneys and tricycles.
