General Vicar Of The Armies
This is a list of the General Vicar of the Armies. They are Royal Chief Chaplains whose office is to serve the Spanish Armed Forces. The office was first established in 1644 and is usually attached with the title Patriarch of the West Indies (except for the period of 1891–1920). It only at first existed in wartime period but was permanently established in 1762. Also it was abolished during the First and Second Spanish republican era (1873–1874, 1932–1937). Spanish Armed Forces
The Spanish Armed Forces are in charge of guaranteeing the sovereignty and independence of the Kingdom of Spain, defending its territorial integrity and the constitutional order, according to the functions entrusted to them by the Constitution of 1978. Roman Catholic Archdiocese Of Madrid
The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Madrid is one of Spain's fourteen metropolitan archbishoprics. Since 28 August 2014 the archbishop of Madrid has been Carlos Osoro Sierra. International Military Chiefs Of Chaplains Conference
The International Military Chiefs of Chaplains Conference is an organization of the principal leaders of the national groups of military chaplains. Begun as a conference of the heads of chaplaincies of countries in the NATO alliance, it has expanded its participation. In February 1990, the United States European Command (USEUCOM) convened and hosted a NATO Chiefs of Chaplains Conference, in Stuttgart, Germany. In 1991, a second conference took place in Church House, British Army of the Rhine, Lübbecke, Germany. During its discussions, the conference title was changed to the ''North America/European Chiefs of Chaplains Conference''. Participants also discussed the possibility of expanding the forum to include countries from the former Warsaw Pact. The Military Archbishopric of Spain ( es, Arzobispado Castrense de España) is a military ordinariate of the Roman Catholic Church. Braulio Rodríguez Plaza (27 January 1944) is a Spanish Catholic prelate, who was Metropolitan Archbishop of Toledo and Primate of Spain from 16 April 2009 to 27 December 2019. A bishop since 1987, he was Metropolitan Archbishop of Valladolid from 2002 to 2009. Biography Rodríguez Plaza was born in Aldea del Fresno, Community of Madrid, which is now in the diocese of Getafe. Antonio Cañizares Llovera (; born 15 October 1945) is a Spanish cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church who was the Archbishop of Valencia from 2014 to 2022. He was prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments from 2008 to 2014, and archbishop of Toledo and Primate of Spain from 2002 to 2008.
