General Viamonte Partido
General Viamonte Partido is a partido in the north of Buenos Aires Province in Argentina. The provincial subdivision has a population of about 17,600 inhabitants in an area of , and its capital city is Los Toldos, which is from Buenos Aires. The town of Los Toldos is home to an Indigenous Mapuche colony. Name The partido was originally named after a settlement that had built up around a train station on the Buenos Aires Western Railway called ''Los Toldos''. In 1910 the name of the partido was changed from ''Los Toldos'' to General Viamonte although the town has kept the name Los Toldos. The partido is now named in honour of General Juan José Viamonte, a hero of the Argentine War of Independence, governor of Buenos Aires and Argentine head of state for 3 days (April 18, 1815 to April 20, 1815). Chancay
Chancay is a small city located north of Lima. Its population is 63,378. The Chancay culture was a pre-Columbian archaeological culture, later part of the Inca Empire. History It was founded in 1562 under the name of Villa de Arnedo. The main activity in Chancay these days is as a tourist resort for nearby Lima. The main attraction is El Castillo, a faux castle, recently repaired but constructed in the nineteenth century. There is a small museum in the castle displaying Chancay culture pottery and mummies. In 2019, COSCO agreed to build a new port on the coast of Chancay as part of China's Belt and Road Initiative and in 2022, the China Harbour Engineering Company of China Communications Construction Company agreed to build the complex at which would include breakwaters, docks and a tunnel to warehouses. Juan José Viamonte
Juan José Viamonte González (February 9, 1774 – March 31, 1843) was an Argentine general in the early 19th century. Life and Politics Viamonte was born in Buenos Aires and entered the army in his youth following in his father's footsteps. He fought in the First British Invasion with the rank of lieutenant, and after his participation in the Second Invasion, having distinguished himself in the defense of the Colegio de San Carlos, was promoted to captain. He took part on the Buenos Aires Cabildo of May 22, 1810 and after the revolution he fought at the battles of Suipacha and Huaqui. After this latter battle he was accused of not joining with the 1,500 men under his command, while he was doing military exercises nearby. This accusation led to a long court-martial which finally acquitted him and he remained in the army.
