General Inspectorate Of Aviation (Romania)
The General Inspectorate of Aviation (''Inspectoratul General de Aviație'') (formerly Special Aviation Unit - ''Unitatea Specialǎ de Aviaţie'') is Ministry of Internal Affairs (Romania), Ministry of Internal Affairs's air component. The unit was initially established in 1947, but restructured in 1978. It has its overall headquarters at Aurel Vlaicu International Airport and operates three territorial flights in Cluj-Napoca, Iaşi and Tulcea. The Special Aviation Unit currently operates Mil Mi-8, Mi-8 3, Mil Mi-17, Mi-17 3 Eurocopter EC135, EC-135 2 Iar-330 politie 2 and Iar-316b politie 2 helicopters. Tulcea (; also known by other alternative names) is a city in Northern Dobruja, Romania. It is the administrative center of Tulcea County, and had a population of 73,707 . One village, Tudor Vladimirescu, is administered by the city. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Romania ( ro, Ministerul Afacerilor Interne) is one of the eighteen ministries of the Government of Romania.
