General Inspection Office (Iran)
The General Inspection Organization of Iran (GIO) is linked to the Judiciary of Iran. It is also called the State Inspectorate Organization of Iran. The organization is a member of Asian Ombudsman Association and International Ombudsman Institute. Also, it is the member of International Association of Anti Corruption Authorities. However, it is not the primary anti-corruption body and there are several agencies including Supreme Audit Court, Ministry of Justice and Parliamentary Commission for enforcing principle 90 of the constitution, which are involved in fighting corruption and enforcing United Nations Convention Against Corruption. Judiciary Of Iran
The Islamic Republic of Iran was founded after the 1979 overthrow of the Pahlavi dynasty by the Islamic Revolution, and its legal code is based on Islamic law or sharia, although many aspects of civil law have been retained, and it is integrated into a civil law legal system. According to the constitution of the Islamic Republic, the judiciary in Iran "is an independent power". The International Ombudsman Institute (IOI), established in 1978, is the only global organisation for the cooperation of more than 200 independent Ombudsman institutions operating on a local, regional and national level from more than 100 countries worldwide. The Ombudsman of Western Australia, Chris Field, is the current President of the IOI since May 2021. Werner Amon, Chair of the Austrian Ombudsman Board, is the IOI's Secretary General since July 2019. Supreme Audit Court Of Iran
The Supreme Audit Court of Iran (SAC) (Persian: دیوان محاسبات کشور) is a government agency of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Located in Tehran, it is supervised by the Iranian Parliament and dates back to 1906. Articles 54 and 55 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran define the objectives and responsibilities of SAC, the most important duty of the organization being the preparation of the government's Budget Liquidation Report, as specified by article 55 of the Constitution. The state body is tasked with controlling "financial operations and activities of all ministries, institutions, government companies and other organizations which in any manner whatsoever benefit from the state budget." Imperial Inspectorate Organization
The Imperial Inspectorate Organization was an organization of the Iranian Pahlavi government established in 1959 to handle complaints from the public about government officials and agencies. The organization reported directly to the Shah, and was initially headed by General Hossein Fardoust, a childhood friend of the monarch. In its first year of operation, the department "received 52,000 complaints and dismissed 424 officials". Prime Minister Ali Amini dissolved the organization in 1962 during a reduction in the size of government, but it was later reestablished in 1968.
