Men's freestyle 74 kilograms competition at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, was held on August 20 at the China Agricultural University Gymnasium. This freestyle wrestling competition consisted of a single-elimination tournament, with a repechage used to determine the winner of two bronze medals. The two finalists faced off for gold and silver medals. Each wrestler who lost to one of the two finalists moved into the repechage, culminating in a pair of bronze medal matches featuring the semifinal losers each facing the remaining repechage opponent from their half of the bracket. Each bout consisted of up to three rounds, lasting two minutes apiece. The wrestler who scored more points in each round was the winner of that rounds; the bout finished when one wrestler had won two rounds (and thus the match). Augusto Midana (born 20 May 1984 in Sucuto-Nhacra) is a freestyle wrestler from Guinea-Bissau who competes in the men's middleweight (-74 kg) category. He represented Guinea-Bissau in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, and was the flagbearer for his nation during the opening ceremonies of those games. He competed again at the 2012 Summer Olympics, finishing in 7th place. He once again competed for Guinea-Bissau at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Murad Gaidarov
Murad Gaidarov ( be, Мурад Гайдараў, russian: Мурад Гайдаров; born February 13, 1980, in Khasavyurt, Dagestan), also known as Murad Haidarau, is an Avar Russian - Belarusian wrestler. Gaidarov was disqualified from 2004 Summer Olympics for retaliating after he was defeated at the quarterfinals and assaulted his opponent, Buvaisar Saitiev, off the arena floor. Gaidarov won the bronze medal in men's 74 kg freestyle wrestling at the 2008 Summer Olympics, but after a failed drug test by Soslan Tigiev, he won a silver medal.
