Gek Poh Shopping Centre
Gek Poh Ville is a residential precinct in Jurong, named after 'Gek Poh Road', a street that existed before Pioneer was developed. It is used to be part of Hong Kah North SMC, now West Coast GRC and the area's residential areas are under the management of West Coast Town Council, with Foo Mee Har representing the residents of Gek Poh Ville in parliament. The ''Singapore Boys Home'', ''Saint Joseph's Home'' and ''Thonghup Gardens'' (Plant Nursery) are also located in the precinct. Pan Island Expressway
The Pan Island Expressway (Abbreviated as: PIE) is the oldest and longest expressway in Singapore. It is also Singapore's longest road. The expressway runs from the East Coast Parkway near Changi Airport in the east to Tuas in the west and has a total length of . Initially conceived by the Public Works Department in the 1960s as part of road expansions for handling rising traffic volumes, work on the PIE commenced in 1964. The first section, Jalan Toa Payoh, was completed by 1969. Construction of the other segments of the expressway were carried out in the 1970s. Boon Lay Secondary School (BLSS) is a government secondary school located in Jurong West, Singapore. History The school commenced operations in 1977 at a S$3.59 million campus at the junction of Boon Lay Way and Jalan Boon Lay, with 13 classes, seven of which were English-medium and the remaining six Chinese-medium. Pioneer Secondary School (abbreviation: PSS) was a government co-educational secondary school in Jurong West, Singapore. It existed from 1994 to 2016. Due to falling enrollment, the school has merged into Boon Lay Secondary School. History The school was officially opened in December 1994. While waiting for its school building to be ready, it was temporarily housed at Hong Kah Secondary School under the same principal, Mrs Yeo Chin Nam. Mrs Tan Sor Poh was appointed the principal, followed by Mr Tan Chor Pang. Mr Satianathan S/O K Ndarajah, the previous principal, took over the school in December 2005.
