Gegê Chaia
George Frederico Torres Homem Chaia (born February 3, 1991 in Rio de Janeiro), commonly known as "Gegê" Chaia, is a Brazilian professional basketball player, who currently plays as point guard for Corinthians in the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). Professional career Chaia started his career at Tijuca, but then moved to Spanish club Baloncesto Torrejón in 2008, where he became a professional player. In 2010, he transferred to Flamengo, on a one-season loan spell. In that season he won the Brazilian Developmental League youth age championship. Tijuca Tênis Clube For the 2011–12 NBB season, Chaia signed with his former club, Tijuca Tênis Clube and debuted in the NBB. He didn't have any impressive numbers, but managed to play in four postseason games. Flamengo In 2012, Chaia once again signed with Flamengo. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. 2014–15 NBB Season
The 2014–15 NBB season was the 7th season of the Novo Basquete Brasil, the Brazilian basketball league. Once again this tournament was organized entirely by the Liga Nacional de Basquete (LNB). The NBB also qualified teams for international tournaments such as Liga Sudamericana and FIBA Americas League. This season sixteen teams were played each other in the regular season. At the end of the home and away matches round the top four teams qualified for the quarterfinals of the playoffs automatically, while the teams finishing in the 5th and 12th place participated in the first round of the playoffs to determine the other four teams in the quarterfinals, in a five-match series. This year NBB returned to a series in the Finals, played in a best of three-match. For this season, only the last regular season placed was relegated to the Liga Ouro, the NBB second division. The 2013–14 NBB season was the sixth season of the Novo Basquete Brasil, the Brazilian basketball league. This tournament was organized entirely by the Liga Nacional de Basquete (LNB). The NBB serves as a qualifying competition for international tournaments such as Liga Sudamericana and FIBA Americas League. Seventeen teams playing each other in the regular season.
