Geerten Ten Bosch
Geerten Maria Ten Bosch (born 21 April 1959) is a Dutch graphic designer and illustrator. Early life Ten Bosch was born in Dordrecht in 1959 as one of five children of Lou Ten Bosch and Ank Stumpel. Between 1980 and 1984 she studied graphic and typographic design at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague but she did not complete her studies. One of her teachers was Alfons van Heusden. Illustrator In 1985, she started children's magazine ''St. Kitts van de Bovenwindse'' with Clara Linders, named after Saint Kitts island. The initial financing for ''St. Kitts van de Bovenwindse'' was made possible by Ilona Fennema who made available the remaining money after the end of children's magazine ''Kris Kras''. Further financing was made possible by the Nederlands Comité voor Kinderzegels. Dordrecht (), historically known in English as Dordt (still colloquially used in Dutch, ) or Dort, is a city and municipality in the Western Netherlands, located in the province of South Holland. The Digital Library for Dutch Literature (Dutch: Digitale Bibliotheek voor de Nederlandse Letteren or DBNL) is a website (showing the abbreviation as dbnl) about Dutch language and Dutch literature. It contains thousands of literary texts, secondary literature and additional information, like biographies, portrayals etcetera, and hyperlinks. The DBNL is an initiative by the DBNL foundation that was founded in 1999 by the Society of Dutch Literature (Dutch: Maatschappij der Nederlandse Letterkunde). Building of the DNBL was made possible by donations, among others, from the Dutch Organization for Scientific Research (Dutch: Nederlandse Organisatie voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek or NWO) and the Nederlandse Taalunie. From 2008 to 2012, the editor was René van Stipriaan. The work is done by eight people in Leiden (as of 2013: The Hague), 20 students, and 50 people in the Philippines who scan and type the texts. Maassluis
Maassluis () is a city in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The municipality had a population of in and covered of which was water. It received city rights in 1811. History Maassluis was founded circa 1340 as a settlement next to a lock (in Dutch: ''sluis'') in the sea barrier between the North Sea and Rotterdam. Originally ''Maeslandsluys'', it was part of Maesland. In 1489 the settlement was sacked. During the Eighty Years' War, Philips of Marnix, lord of Sint-Aldegonde, started to build a defense wall but before its completion, the Spanish captured it in 1573 and Philips of Marnix was taken prisoner.
