Gedson Fernandes
Gedson Carvalho Fernandes (born 9 January 1999) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Turkish Süper Lig club Beşiktaş. Born in São Tomé and Príncipe, he has represented the Portugal national team. Club career Benfica Born in São Tomé, Fernandes started his youth career at SC Frielas in Portugal in 2008. A year later, he joined S.L. Benfica's youth system, where he progressed to the club's reserve team in 2017. On 11 February that year, he made his professional debut with Benfica B in a LigaPro 4–2 win over Desportivo das Aves. Following his promotion to Benfica's first team in the 2018–19 season, Fernandes debuted as a starter in a 1–0 home win over Fenerbahçe in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round on 7 August 2018. Beşiktaş () is a district and municipality of Istanbul, Turkey, located on the European shore of the Bosphorus strait. 2016 UEFA European Under-17 Championship
The 2016 UEFA European Under-17 Championship was the 15th edition of the UEFA European Under-17 Championship (34th edition if the Under-16 era is included), the annual European international youth football championship contested by the men's under-17 national teams of UEFA member associations. Azerbaijan, which were selected by UEFA on 20 March 2012, hosted the tournament between 5 and 21 May 2016. A total of 16 teams competed in the final tournament, with players born on or after 1 January 1999 eligible to participate. Each match had a duration of 80 minutes, consisting of two halves of 40 minutes with a 15-minute half-time. The Taça de Portugal (; "Cup of Portugal") is an annual association football competition and the premier knockout tournament in Portuguese football. For sponsorship reasons, it has been known as Taça de Portugal Placard since the 2015–16 season. Organised by the Portuguese Football Federation since it was first held in 1938, the competition is open to professional and amateur clubs from the top-four league divisions. Matches are played from August–September to May–June, and the final is traditionally held at the Estádio Nacional in Oeiras, near Lisbon. The Süper Lig (, ''Super League''), officially known as Spor Toto Süper Lig for sponsorship reasons, is a Turkish professional league for association football clubs. It is the top-flight of the Turkish football league system and is run by the Turkish Football Federation.
