Ged Stenson
Gerard Patrick Stenson (born 30 December 1959) is an English former footballer who played as a midfielder for Port Vale, Morecambe, and Prescot Cables in the late 1970s. Career Stenson played for Everton before joining Third Division side Port Vale in March 1978 for a £3,000 fee. The club were relegated that season under the stewardship of Bobby Smith. Stenon was instead handed his debut by new manager Dennis Butler came on 12 August, in a League Cup First Round 3–0 defeat to Chester at Vale Park. Despite the scoreline, Stenson made a big impression and started the next eight matches. His performances waned, however, and after September, he was only ever a back-up player. He played 11 Fourth Division and two League Cup games in the 1978–79 season, and featured in just one league game in the 1979–80 campaign. Bootle
Bootle (pronounced ) is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton, Merseyside, England, which had a population of 51,394 in 2011; the wider Bootle (UK Parliament constituency), Parliamentary constituency had a population of 98,449. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. First played during the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest national football competition in the world. It is organised by and named after The Football Association (The FA). Northern Premier League
The Northern Premier League is an English football league that was founded in 1968. It has four divisions: the Premier Division (which stands at level 7 of the English football league system), Division One East, Division One West and Division One Midlands (which stand at level 8). Geographically, the league covers all of Northern England and the northern/central areas of the Midlands, and western parts of East Anglia. Originally a single-division competition, a second division was added in 1987: Division One, and in 2007 a third was added when Division One split into two geographic sections - Division One North and Division One South. Alan Bloor
Alan Bloor (born 16 March 1943) is an English former footballer and manager. He made 394 league appearances in the Football League for both Potteries teams. He spent eighteen years as a centre-half at Stoke City between 1960 and 1978, helping them to lift the League Cup in 1972, before spending a brief association with Port Vale as a player and manager between 1978 and 1979. He also briefly played for American club Cleveland Stokers in 1967. He is fifth in Stoke's all-time appearances list, and was nicknamed "Bluto" by the club's supporters. Playing career Stoke City Bloor played centre-half for Stoke-on-Trent schoolboys and won youth caps with England. He started his career with Stoke City in 1960 on his 17th birthday.
