Gearoid Farrelly
Gearoid Farrelly is an Irish people, Irish comedian. He was a finalist in So You Think You're Funny and the winner of the Bulmers Nuthin' Butt Funny Comedy Award, which earned him supporting acts with Rich Hall and Michael Winslow as part of the Bulmer's Comedy festival. In October 2008 he performed at the Cologne Comedy Festival in Germany. He made his debut at the Carlsberg Comedy Festival in Iveagh Gardens in 2008 and at The Cat Laughs Festival, Kilkenny in 2010. In November 2009, he previewed an hour solo show "The Awkward, In-Between Stage" and was the support act for Maeve Higgins "Blabbing Away" national tour in 2010, followed by dates for Tommy Tiernan in August and closing out 2010 on PJ Gallagher (comedian), PJ Gallagher's tour in December. For two years he had a weekly comedy slot on the I105-107FM Breakfast Show on Tuesdays where he gave breakfast hosts Keith Walsh and Bernard O'Shea his take on the world. ''Tonight with Craig Doyle'' is a talk show hosted by Craig Doyle that was broadcast on RTÉ One for one series in 2010. The show featured guest interviews, audience participation and live music. ''The Savage Eye'' is a 1959 "dramatized documentary" film that superposes a dramatic narration of the life of a divorced woman with documentary camera footage of Los Angeles. The film was written, produced, directed, and edited by Ben Maddow, Sidney Meyers, and Joseph Strick, who did the work over several years on their weekends. ''The Savage Eye'' is often considered to be part of the cinema vérité movement of the 1950s and 1960s. ''The Lucy Kennedy Show'' is an Irish chat show hosted by Lucy Kennedy. Her father, John Kennedy, accompanies her in studio, where he performs the role of pianist. Each episode involves Lucy Kennedy interviewing two guests and dressing up as a well-known personality to perform a sketch. It began airing on 6 January 2009. The show was poorly received by critics during its opening week. Kennedy described her show as "'' Livin' with Lucy'' in a studio" and "a bit like ''The Charlotte Church Show'' gone wrong". ''Republic of Telly'' is a TV review and magazine programme on Irish public broadcaster, RTÉ Two. Presented by comedian Kevin McGahern, the programme is intended as a satirical examination of television, mocking various Irish and British TV channels, including sketches and special guests making an appearance from the shows. An added feature of the show is its correspondents Jennifer Maguire and Bernard O'Shea. Maguire conducts vox pops and celebrity interviews, whereas O'Shea conducts live 'on the spot' reports (filmed in front of a greenscreen). Series two also introduced comedians The Rubberbandits as reporters, bizarre weathermen and agony aunts. Niamh Kavanagh ( ; born 13 February 1968) is an Irish singer who sang the winning entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 1993. The 1993 Eurovision Song Contest was held in Millstreet, County Cork, Republic of Ireland. She sang "In Your Eyes" to clinch a second consecutive win for Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest. The singer represented Ireland again in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 in Oslo, with the song "It's for You". She performed at the semi-final on 27 May 2010, finishing 9th in a field of 17 contestants, thus qualifying for the Grand Final on 29 May 2010.
