Gawad Mabini
Gawad Mabini is an Honour, honor given by the Republic of the Philippines. History Created by Presidential Decree No. 490, the Gawad Mabini may be conferred upon personnel of the Department of Foreign Affairs (Philippines), DFA, both in the Home Office and in the Foreign Service, and upon Filipinos who have rendered distinguished service or promoted the interests of the Republic of the Philippines at home and abroad. Award The Gawad Mabini may be conferred by the Secretary of Foreign Affairs in the name and by Fount of honour, authority of the President. The Gawad Mabini shall be conferred on July 22 of every year, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Apolinario Mabini, the first Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines. An order is a visible honour awarded by a sovereign state, monarch, dynastic house or organisation to a person, typically in recognition of individual merit, that often comes with distinctive insignia such as collars, medals, badges, and sashes worn by recipients. Modern honour systems of state orders and dynastic orders emerged from the culture of orders of chivalry of the Middle Ages, which in turn emerged from the Catholic religious orders. Manuel Collantes
Manuel G. Collantes (August 20, 1917 – May 28, 2009) was a Filipino diplomat who served as the country's acting Minister of Foreign Affairs in 1984. Collantes was raised in Tanauan, Batangas. He received his law degree from Far Eastern University in 1940, and passed the bar exam later that same year. He began his career by working as an assistant attorney at the Claro M. Recto law office for a short period. He also taught diplomacy and international law, as well as parliamentary practice at Far Eastern University. He met his wife, Consuelo Madrigal, in Washington, D.C. in 1949 while Collantes was working as the second secretary and consul at the Embassy of the Philippines in Washington, D.C. Jose Enrique "Joric" Austria Manalo (born July 21, 1952) is a Filipino diplomat currently serving as the Secretary of Foreign Affairs under the Marcos administration since July 1, 2022. He previously served in an acting role under the Duterte administration from March 9 to May 17, 2017 when Perfecto Yasay Jr.'s ad-interim appointment confirmation was rejected by the Commission on Appointments due to citizenship issues. Arturo "Ka Turing" Modesto Tolentino (September 19, 1910 – August 2, 2004) was a Filipino politician and diplomat who served as the Senate president and the Secretary of Foreign Affairs.
