Gavintra Photijak ( th, กวินตรา โพธิจักร; ), nicknamed Gam ( th, แก้ม, ; born 24 December 1986 in Nongkhai, Thailand) is a Thai television actress and beauty pageant titleholder who has competed in the Miss Universe. On May 24, 2008, she competed in the Miss Thailand Universe 2008 pageant held in Bangkok where she won and was crowned by reigning Miss Thailand Universe 2007 Farung Yuthithum She graduate bachelor's degree from Bangkok University. Pageantry She represented Thailand in the Miss Universe 2008 pageant held in Nha Trang, Vietnam, where her Muay Thai inspired costume won the Best National Costume Award. However, she did not place in the Top 15. The pageant was won by Dayana Mendoza, of Venezuela. Miss Thailand Universe 2008 was the 9th Miss Thailand Universe pageant held at the Aksra Theatre, King Power Complex, in Bangkok, Thailand on May 24, 2008. In the final round, broadcast live on BBTV Channel 7, Gavintra Photijak, was crowned Miss Thailand Universe 2008 by Farung Yuthithum, Miss Thailand Universe 2007. Chananporn Rosjan ( th, ชนันภรณ์ รสจันทน์), nicknamed Nod ( th, น้อด) is a Thai pilot, model, and Miss Thailand Universe 2005 titleholder. Biography Rosjan was educated primarily at Ruamrudee International School in Bangkok, Thailand. She moved to New York, United States with her family where her guardian was general consulate. She studied at the Francis Lewis High School and returned to Thailand to study at Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology at Thammasat University where she later received Bachelor of Electrical Engineering. Miss Universe 2008 was the 57th Miss Universe pageant, held at the Crown Convention Center in Nha Trang, Vietnam on July 14, 2008. This was the first time that the Miss Universe pageant was broadcast in 1080i High-definition. At the end of the event, Riyo Mori of Japan crowned Dayana Mendoza as Miss Universe 2008.
