Gavin Griffin
Gavin Griffin (born August 28, 1981 in Darien, Illinois) is an American professional poker player. He attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. Starting as an internet poker player he successfully made the transition to live poker, and broke Allen Cunningham's record as the youngest person ever to win a World Series of Poker title in 2004, winning a $3,000 Pot Limit Texas hold'em event. Griffin lost that record the following World Series to Eric Froehlich. In 2007, he won the Grand Final of the European Poker Tour in Monte Carlo, after qualifying via a $240 online satellite tournament on PokerStars.com. His victory paid him €1,825,010 ($2,434,061) which pushed him to the top of the all-time European Poker Tour winnings list. 2007 World Series Of Poker
The 2007 World Series of Poker (WSOP) began on June 1st, 2007. The $10,000 ( US) no-limit Texas hold 'em Main Event began on July 6th and was completed on the morning of July 18th. All events were held at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada by Harrah's Entertainment, which has run the annual event since its purchase from the Binion family in 2004. For the first time players began each event with double the amount of chips as the buy-in. This means that players in the Main Event started with 20,000 chips. The blind structure has also been increased and some blind levels removed but slowed to allow for more play. In addition to the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event, which was first played at the 2006 World Series of Poker, this year there were 2 additional H.O.R.S.E. events with lower buy-ins ($2,500 and $5,000). Harrah's Resort Southern California (formerly Harrah's Rincon) is a Native American gaming casino and hotel in Valley Center, California. It is owned by the Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians and operated by Caesars Entertainment. Texas hold 'em (also known as Texas holdem, hold 'em, and holdem) is one of the most popular variants of the card game of poker. Two cards, known as hole cards, are dealt face down to each player, and then five community cards are dealt face up in three stages. The stages consist of a series of three cards ("the flop"), later an additional single card ("the turn" or "fourth street"), and a final card ("the river" or "fifth street"). Davidi Kitai (born 28 September 1979) is a Belgian professional poker player who won the 2008 World Series of Poker $2,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em event for $244,583, becoming the first Belgian to win a WSOP bracelet.
