Concerto For Constantine
Concerto for Constantine is an unsigned Irish indie rock band formed in August 2007. The band consists of former JJ72 frontman Mark Greaney (vocals, guitar), former Turn and Idlewild bassist Gavin Fox (bass) and former The Frames and Bell X1 drummer Paul 'Binzer' Brennan (drums). Formation In the summer of 2007, Mark and Gavin found themselves simultaneously no longer in a band. After approaching Binzer, who the band themselves describe as "the Irish Jimmy Chamberpot", a rehearsal took place in August 2007 and the band was formed. The name of the band was initially created by Gavin looking through some songs on iTunes. He selected the name 'Concerto' and Mark completed it using a name from a dream. Vega4 was a four-piece alternative rock band formed in London consisted of Johnny McDaid (lead vocalist and songwriter), Bruce Gainsford (guitar), Gavin Fox (bassist) and Bryan McLellan (drummer). McDaid is from Northern Ireland and Fox is from Republic of Ireland, McLellan is from Canada and Gainsford is from New Zealand. Vega4 was signed to Columbia Records in the UK, Epic Records in the US, and produced two albums, ''You and Others'' produced by Jacknife Lee ( U2, Snow Patrol, Bloc Party) and "Satellites" produced by John Cornfield and Ron Aniello. The band played at the 2007 SXSW festival. Idlewild (band)
Idlewild are a Scottish rock band formed in Edinburgh in 1995. The band's line-up consists of Roddy Woomble (lead vocals), Rod Jones (guitar, backing vocals), Colin Newton (drums), Andrew Mitchell (bass), and Luciano Rossi (keyboards). To date, Idlewild have released nine full-length studio albums. Initially, Idlewild's sound was faster and more dissonant than many of their 1990s indie rock contemporaries. However, it developed over time from an edgy and angular sound (as heard in their early material—once described by the NME as "the sound of a flight of stairs falling down a flight of stairs") to a sweeping, melodic rock sound as displayed on ''The Remote Part'' and '' Warnings/Promises''. Turn (band)
Turn are an Irish band. History Turn formed in 1998 when lead singer/guitarist Ollie Cole and drummer Ian Melady joined forces with Dublin bass player Gavin Fox, whom they met at a local recording studio. Cole and Melady had been friends since youth and had previously formed Pixies-influenced punk band ''Swampshack''. Through frantic gigging and the release of a few choice 7" singles, Turn started to earn a name for themselves and soon found themselves signed to Infectious Records. Their debut album, ''Antisocial'', soon followed and Turn looked to be on their way to stardom. Infectious, however, were not too interested in releasing any singles from the album and Turn soon found themselves in record company limbo once again. With their schedule clear, Turn hit the road again playing gigs to get funds for more recording.
