Gati Krushna Misra was the seventh Chief Justice of Orissa High Court, from 1 May 1969 to 30 October 1975. On 1 May 1969, he was elevated to the post of Chief Justice of Orissa High Court and worked as such for more than six years. Professional life Born in the village of Gailo, in Dhenkanal district Dhenkanal district is one of the 30 districts of the state of Odisha in Eastern India. Orissa High Court
The Orissa High Court is the High Courts of India, High Court for the Indian States and union territories of India, state of Odisha. The then Bengal Presidency was a vast province including present day Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, and West Bengal. It was difficult to administratively manage such a vast area, inhabited by people speaking in different languages and having different traditions. Administrative exigencies required separation of such areas which originally did not from part of Bengal. So, new province of Bihar and Orissa was formed on 22 March 1912. Satya Bhusan Burman
Satya Bhusan Burman (born May 1907) was an Indian judge and former Chief Justice of Orissa High Court. Career Burman was born in 1907. He studied at Mitra Institution, Kolkata and Presidency College. He passed Law from Hazra Law College, University of Calcutta. Burman became Bar at Law from the Lincoln’s Inn, London. In 1932 he was called to the English Bar. Burman was appointed additional Judge of the Orissa High Court on 3 February 1958. Akbar Ali Khan (politician)
Nawab Mir Akbar Ali Khan (20 November 1899 – 1994) was governor of Uttar Pradesh in India from 1972 to 1974 and governor of Odisha from 25 October 1974 to 17 April 1976. He was a member of the Rajya Sabha for 18 years and he was deputy chairperson of the Rajya Sabha for 12 years. He was associated with Osmania University and was a member of the Senates of Aligarh Muslim University, Jamia Millia Islamia and Jawaharlal Nehru University. Later in 1957 he founded a Polytechnic in Hyderabad. Early life Akbar Ali Khan was born in 1899, to Mehboob Ali Khan, a jagirdar in Bidar and the commander of one of the troops of the Nizam.
