Garçon Wines
Garçon Wines is a British manufacturer of wine bottles and related packaging. Founded in 2016, the company produces a wine bottle that, with its packaging, can fit through a letter box opening. History The company was founded by Joe Revell and Santiago Navarro. Developing a flat wine bottle was not part of their original business plan, which was to be a consumer wine club. Revell's friend complained they could not have wine delivered easily as they were often away from home or in the office. He appeared on CNBC's show ''Pop Up Start Up'' in 2016, and was awarded £20,000 to start the business. In 2017, Garçon Wines won the Best New Beverage Concept award at the World Beverage Innovation Awards and was a Diamond Finalist in the Awards for Packaging Innovation the following year. The Bocksbeutel is a type of wine bottle with the form of a flattened ellipsoid. It is commonly used for wines from Franconia (wine region), Franconia in Germany, but is also used for some Portuguese wines, in particular rosés, where the bottle is called cantil, and in rare cases for Italian wine (in this case called pulcianella) and Greek wine. Naked Wines is an online wine retailer founded by Rowan Gormley which launched in the UK on 1 December 2008. In 2015, the company was purchased by Majestic Wine, a British brick-and-mortar retailer. A pallet (also called a skid) is a flat transport structure, which supports goods in a stable fashion while being lifted by a forklift, a pallet jack, a front loader, a jacking device, or an erect crane.
