Gary Wells (motorcyclist)
Gary Wells (1957 – 2020) was an American motorcycle stunt performer, daredevil. On September 15, 1980, during a taping of the reality television show ''That's Incredible!'' he attempted to jump the fountains at Caesars Palace, a stunt made famous by Evel Knievel's failed attempt, but also crashed and was severely injured. Gary Wells died in Glendale, Ariz., on August 6, 2020. ''That's Incredible!'' is an American reality television show that aired on the American Broadcasting Company, ABC television network from 1980 in television, 1980 to 1984 in television, 1984. In the tradition of ''You Asked for It'', ''List of Ripley's Believe It or Not! TV series, Ripley's Believe It or Not!'' and ''Real People'', the show featured people performing stunts and reenactments of allegedly paranormal events. The show also often featured people with unusual talents, such as speed-talker John Moschitta, Jr., who made his first national television appearance on the show, as well as scientific, medical, and technological breakthroughs such as the Taser and cryogenic corneal reshaping by lathe keratomileusis. Evel Knievel
Robert Craig "Evel" Knievel (; October 17, 1938 – November 30, 2007) was an American stunt performer and entertainer. Over the course of his career, he attempted more than 75 ramp-to-ramp motorcycle jumps. Knievel was inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 1999. He died of pulmonary disease in Clearwater, Florida, in 2007, aged 69. Early life Knievel was born on October 17, 1938, in Butte, Montana, the first of two children of Robert E. and Ann Marie Keough Knievel. His surname is of German origin; his paternal great-great-grandparents emigrated to the United States from Germany. His mother was of Irish ancestry.
