Gary Russell (born 18 September 1963) is a British freelance writer, producer and former child actor. As a writer, he is best known for his work in connection with the television series ''Doctor Who'' and its spin-offs in other media. As an actor, he is best known for playing Dick Kirrin in the British 1978 television series ''The Famous Five (1970s TV series), The Famous Five''. Biography Russell was born in Maidenhead, Berkshire. His on-screen acting career included leading roles in the BBC's adaptation of E. Gary Allen Russell Jr. (born June 5, 1988) is an American professional boxer who held the WBC featherweight title from 2015 to 2022. As of October 2022, he is ranked as the world's seventh best active featherweight by '' The Ring'' magazine, fourth by BoxRec, and fifth by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board. As an amateur boxer, Russell won a bantamweight bronze medal at the 2005 World Championships. In 2011, he was named Prospect of the Year by '' The Ring'', ''Sports Illustrated'', and ESPN. He is the older brother of boxers Gary Antonio Russell and Gary Antuanne Russell, who compete at bantamweight and welterweight, respectively. Gary Antonio Russell (born 19 January 1993) is an American professional boxer. Professional boxing career Russel twice reached the finals of Golden Gloves as an amateur, winning the gold medal in 2013 and finishing as a runner-up in 2014. Russel made his professional debut against Harold Reyes on 31 January 2015. He won the fight by a second-round knockout. He amassed a 15–0 record during the next five years, winning twelve of those fights by way of stoppage. Gary Russell (born September 8, 1986) is a former American football running back. He was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2007. He won Super Bowl XLIII with the Steelers against the Arizona Cardinals, scoring a touchdown in the game. He played college football at Minnesota. Russell has also been an active roster member of the Oakland Raiders. Early years Russell attended Walnut Ridge High School in Columbus, Ohio. College career Russell played college football at Minnesota where in 2005, he went past the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the year totaling 18 rushing touchdowns while splitting carries with Laurence Maroney.
