Gary Reilly
Gary Reilly (born New Zealand, 1945) is an Australian radio and television producer and writer. He is known for his work on a variety of comedy series such as ''The Naked Vicar Show'', ''Kingswood Country'', '' Hey Dad..!'' and ''Bullpitt!''. He won several Australian Writers Guild awards and Logies, as well as being inducted into the Australian Writers' Hall Of Fame. Career Reilly started work as a trainee with the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation in 1964, working in various production roles before he moved to advertising; working mostly freelance in most of the industry's creative departments: as writer, art director, production manager, director and MC in New Zealand and Great Britain, then from 1970, in Australia. RS Productions
''RS Productions'' was an Australian television and radio production company best known for producing the 1980-1984 sitcom ''Kingswood Country''. The company was founded by Gary Reilly and Tony Sattler, originally to produce comic sketches such as ''The Novels of Fiona Wintergreen'' and "anti-ads" (satirical advertisements for fictitious company ''Product Name'') for ABC youth radio 2JJ and for its "Local Radio" network. Titles included ''Chuck Chunder of the Space Patrol'' (1975), ''Doctors and Nurses'' (1976) and ''The Naked Vicar Show'' (1976–77), for which a compilation of highlights is available. A television version of ''The Naked Vicar Show'' was broadcast by Channel Seven (1977–78). One of its regular sketches became the basis for the hit series ''Kingswood Country''. Logie Awards
The Logie Awards (officially the TV Week Logie Awards; colloquially known as The Logies) is an annual gathering to celebrate Australian television, sponsored and organised by the magazine ''TV Week''. The first ceremony was held in 1959 as the TV Week Awards. Awards are presented in twenty categories, representing both public and industry voted prizes. The Gold Logie is the most prestigious award and the industry's highest honour; it's awarded to the ''Most Popular Personality on Australian Television'' for the previous year. AWGIE Awards
The AWGIE Awards is an annual awards ceremony conducted by the Australian Writers' Guild, for excellence in screen, television, stage and radio writing. The awards began in 1967. The awards are judged by over 50 writers, most of whom are previous award winners themselves. They receive no payment for their role as judges. John Flanagan (author)
John Anthony Flanagan is an Australian fantasy author best known for his medieval fantasy series, the ''Ranger's Apprentice'' series, and its sister series, the '' Brotherband Chronicles.'' Some of his other works include his ''Storm Peak'' duology, as well as the adult novel ''The Grey Raider.'' Early life and careers John Flanagan was born in Sydney, Australia on 22 May 1944. He graduated from Waverley College with plans to become a writer. As he grew up, he changed careers and got a job at an advertising agency. He originally planned to become a trainee copywriter, but the agency instead assigned him to train as a media researcher. While working as a media researcher trainee, he wrote an offensive poem directed toward one of his senior executives. Eventually, the poem made it to the desk of one of the company's directors. ''The Naked Vicar Show'' is a satirical Australian radio and television series. The classic Australian sitcom ''Kingswood Country'' was spawned from sketches in the series. Production The series was written and produced by Gary Reilly and Tony Sattler and made by their company RS Productions for ABC Radio's Double J, (later Triple J when the station changed from AM to FM), before making a record titled ''The Naked Vicar Show'' in 1975 (containing highlights from season 1) and being adapted successfully for television by Channel Seven.
