Gary Orr
Gary Hamish Orr (born 11 May 1967) is a Scotland, Scottish professional golfer. Career Orr was born in Helensburgh, Scotland. He turned professional in 1988 and became a member of the European Tour in 1993. His two wins on the Tour both came in 2000, at the Algarve Portuguese Open and the Victor Chandler British Masters. He also had his highest finish on the European Tour Order of Merit that season, placing tenth. Since turning 50 in May 2017, Orr has played on the European Senior Tour. He was runner-up in the Willow Senior Golf Classic in both 2017 and 2018 before his first win on the tour in the 2018 Scottish Senior Open. Helensburgh
Helensburgh (; gd, Baile Eilidh) is an affluent coastal town on the north side of the Firth of Clyde in Scotland, situated at the mouth of the Gareloch. Historically in Dunbartonshire, it became part of Argyll and Bute following local government reorganisation in 1996. Geography and geology Helensburgh is northwest of Glasgow. The town faces south towards Greenock across the Firth of Clyde, which is approximately wide at this point. 2018 European Senior Tour
The 2018 Staysure Tour was the 27th season of the European Senior Tour, the professional golf tour for men aged 50 and above operated by the PGA European Tour. The season was officially called the Staysure Tour after UK-based insurance company Staysure became the Tour's first-ever title sponsor. Tournament results The 2018 schedule consisted of 19 events, including three new tournaments. 1998 Alfred Dunhill Cup
The 1998 Alfred Dunhill Cup was the 14th Alfred Dunhill Cup. It was a team tournament featuring 16 countries, each represented by three players. The Cup was played 8–11 October at the Old Course at St Andrews in Scotland. The sponsor was the Alfred Dunhill company. The South African team of Ernie Els, David Frost, and Retief Goosen beat the Spanish team of Miguel Ángel Jiménez, Santiago Luna, and José María Olazábal in the final. Alfred Dunhill Cup
The Alfred Dunhill Cup was a team golf tournament which ran from 1985 to 2000, sponsored by Alfred Dunhill Ltd. It was for three-man teams of professional golfers, one team representing each country, and was promoted as the "World Team Championship". It was a "special approved event" on the European Tour, which means that it was supported by the Tour, but the prize money did not count towards the Tour's Order of Merit. The host course was the Old Course at St Andrews in Scotland. The stature of the members of the American team was variable as the Dunhill Cup clashed with a PGA Tour event, though the fact that it was played at "The Home of Golf" helped to attract some star names. The WGC Invitational was a professional golf tournament that was held in the United States. Established in 1999 as a successor to the World Series of Golf, it was one of three or four annual World Golf Championships (WGC) until 2021, when the number of WGC events was reduced to two. Under sponsorship agreements, the WGC Invitational was titled as the WGC-NEC Invitational (1999–2005) and the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational (2006–2018). The WGC Match Play, currently titled as the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play for sponsorship reasons, is a professional men's golf tournament that has been held since 1999. It is the only one of the World Golf Championships to have been contested using the match play format. Since 2016, it has been held at the Austin Country Club in Austin, Texas, United States. The Masters Tournament (usually referred to as simply The Masters, or the U.S. Masters outside North America) is one of the four major championships in professional golf. Jean-François Remésy
Jean-François Remésy (born 5 June 1964), also known as Jeff Remésy, is a French professional golfer. Career Remésy was born in Nîmes, Occitania. He won the French Amateur Championship in 1985 and turned professional in 1987. For much of his career he has struggled to establish himself as a tour golfer, and he has made over a dozen trips to the European Tour Qualifying School. His first professional win came in a small tournament in France in 1991 and he won on the Challenge Tour in 1994, but he didn't break into the top 100 on the European Tour Order of Merit until 1999. That year he won the Estoril Open on the main tour, and he has continued to progress since then. In 2004 he became the first Frenchman to win the Open de France in 35 years, and in 2005 he retained his title by beating fellow Frenchman Jean van de Velde in a playoff.
