Gary Matthew McDonald (born 10 April 1982 in Irvine, North Ayrshire) is a Scottish professional footballer who last played for Scottish Junior club Kilwinning Rangers. He also played for Kilmarnock, Oldham Athletic, Aberdeen, Hamilton Academical, Morecambe, St Johnstone and Peterhead. Club career McDonald started his career at Kilmarnock, playing there for five seasons between 2001 and 2006, where he played in 106 league matches, scoring 11 goals. On 18 June 2006, McDonald signed for English League One side Oldham Athletic, becoming John Sheridan's first signing as Oldham manager. On 5 January 2008, McDonald scored from in Oldham's 1–0 win over Premier League side Everton in the third round of the FA Cup. Interviewed on ''Match of the Day'' after the match, McDonald described the goal as the best of his career. In late April 2008, McDonald agreed a pre-contract to sign for Aberdeen in the summer. Gary McDonald (born 1961, London) is an English actor of Jamaican descent. A student at Elliott school in Putney, McDonald played football for Wimbledon FC under Dario Gradi. He was a member of the Royal Court Theatre from 1979 to 1980, appearing in various plays at the Court such as ''Hard time Pressure'', ''Hero's Welcome'', and Che Walker's ''Been so Long''. In the 1980s he performed with the Talawa Theatre company in ''The Black Jacobins'', ''The Importance of Being Earnest'', and ''A Raisin in the Sun'' with the Black Theatre. He appeared at the Royal National Theatre in ''Macbeth'', ''Black Poppies'', and ''Rhapsody in Black & White'' and at The Cottlesloe in ''Blood Wedding''. Other theatre credits include ''Scrape of the Black'' and Mike Leigh's ''It's a Great Big Shame'' at the Theatre Royal Stratford East. Garry George McDonald AO (born 30 October 1948) is an Australian actor, satirist and comedian. In a career spanning five decades he has had many theatre, television and film roles, and has been listed as a National Living Treasure. He is best known as the seemingly naive celebrity interviewer Norman Gunston, through whom he pioneered the "ambush interviewer" technique since followed by many others. He received a Gold Logie award for the television ''Norman Gunston Show'' in which he developed the character. He is also famed for his role of the hapless Arthur Beare in the television sitcom ''Mother and Son''. Appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2003 for service to the community in the mental health field and to the arts as an entertainer, he has also been a board member of the Australian mental health organisation Beyond Blue.
