Gary Loizzo
Gary Alexander Loizzo (August 16, 1945 – January 16, 2016) was an American guitarist, singer, recording engineer, and record producer. He is best known for being the lead singer with The American Breed. Biography Gary Loizzo formed a band called Gary & The Knight Lites while he was still in high school in 1961. The band recorded a number of songs before the name was changed to The American Breed in 1967. Loizzo was the lead singer of The American Breed, which had several hit records in 1967-1968, including the million-selling single "Bend Me, Shape Me", and two other top 40 Billboard singles "Green Light" and "Step out of your Mind" and other top 100 hits. Loizzo went on to start his own studio business, initially producing demos in his own garage, before creating a recording studio called 'Pumpkin Studios' in 1976. ''Brave New World'' is the thirteenth studio album by Styx, released in 1999. It is the band’s first studio album to feature drummer Todd Sucherman, replacing John Panozzo, who died in 1996 and the last album to feature keyboardist/vocalist Dennis DeYoung. This is the last album that bassist Chuck Panozzo is credited as a full-time member, he would continue with the band as a part-time member. The album peaked at #175 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and reached the top 10 on the Top Internet Albums chart. However, its position on the Billboard charts was the lowest from a Styx album of new material since 1973's ''The Serpent Is Rising''. The Hunchback Of Notre Dame (Dennis DeYoung Album)
''The Hunchback of Notre Dame'' is a recording of music written by Dennis DeYoung for his musical adaptation of Victor Hugo's novel ''The Hunchback of Notre Dame''. The musical was performed at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center in Nashville to some very positive reviews. This recording was commercially released directly by DeYoung and is an early version of the score, with DeYoung performing all of the male parts and his sister-in-law Dawn Marie performing the female parts. Several songs are related to Styx and solo DeYoung releases. "Beneath the Moon" is a re-worked version of the song by the same name from DeYoung's 1988 ''Boomchild'' album. "Paradise" was later lyrically altered and re-recorded by Styx and released as a studio track on Styx's '' Return to Paradise'' double live album. ''Return to Paradise'' is the second live album by Styx, released in 1997, and their first album after signing with CMC International. It features songs from their successful reunion tour with Tommy Shaw, but without John Panozzo, who died in July 1996. It includes three new studio tracks, "On My Way," "Paradise," and "Dear John." James Young (American Musician)
James Vincent Young (born November 14, 1949) is an American musician who is best known as the lead guitarist in the American rock band Styx, having served as the only continuous original member of the band. Young began playing keyboard and piano at the age of five. He attended Calumet High in Chicago and learned to play clarinet and guitar during those years. He was nicknamed by Styx members & long time fans as "J.Y." and is often referred to as "The Godfather of Styx". In 1970, Young joined the band TW4 while a student at Illinois Institute of Technology, from which he graduated with a bachelor's degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering. That band later became the first incarnation of Styx. Dennis DeYoung (born February 18, 1947) is an American musician, singer, songwriter and record producer. He was a founding member of the rock band Styx, and served as its primary lead vocalist and keyboardist from 1972 until 1999. DeYoung was the band's most prolific and successful writer, having been credited as the writer of more Styx songs than any other band member. DeYoung penned seven of the band's eight ''Billboard'' top 10 singles as well as a solo top 10 single. ''Desert Moon'' is the debut solo album by former Styx keyboard player/singer/songwriter Dennis DeYoung. It was released in 1984 on A&M Records. To date, it has been the most successful of his solo albums and most successful of any of the Styx member solo albums. The album sold respectably and reached No. 24 on the ''Billboard'' 200 album charts in the fall of 1984 and was certified Gold in Canada.
