Gary Wayne Jones (born November 11, 1960) is an American Major League Baseball coach and a former player and manager in minor League baseball. As of , he is the third-base coach of the Detroit Tigers of the American League. Formerly, Jones was the third-base coach of the Chicago Cubs from 2014 to 2017 and the first-base coach of the Oakland Athletics in 1998. Most recently, he was the manager of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, Triple-A International League affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies (2018–2019, 2021). Career The Cubs originally signed Jones as a 21-year-old free agent infielder in 1982 out of the University of Arkansas. Gary Jones is a United States businessman and Republican politician from Oklahoma. He is the former Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspector. Personal Jones was born in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, the fifth of seven children. He graduated from Cameron University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Business Administration/Accounting degree. Jones is both a certified public accountant and a certified fraud examiner. While in college, Jones worked for Southwestern Bell. After 10 years Jones left to start his own telecommunications company, which he sold 16 years later. Jones has operated a cow-calf operation for over 30 years in addition to his other ventures. Gary J. Jones, (born 1953) is a British nurse and author. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Nursing, the Florence Nightingale Foundation and the Faculty of Emergency Nursing. He is the editor and/or author of a number of journals and published articles about nursing. In 1969, Jones began his nursing career as a hospital cadet at Orsett Hospital, Essex. He qualified as a nurse in 1974. He then trained as an ophthalmic nurse at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, before returning to Orsett Hospital. Gary Jones (born April 22, 1952) is an American former professional motocross racer. He competed in the AMA Motocross Championships from 1971 to 1976. Jones is notable for winning the inaugural AMA 250cc motocross national championship in 1972. Jones then successfully defended his national championship in 1973 and 1974, winning three consecutive 250cc motocross national championships while competing on three different brands of motorcycles, a feat which has never been repeated in AMA motocross history. Gareth Howell "Gary" Jones (born June 12, 1945) is a former left-handed Major League Baseball relief pitcher who played in 1970 and 1971 for the New York Yankees.
