Gary Carr (politician)
Gary Carr (born August 14, 1955) is a Canadian politician in Ontario, Canada. He served as a Progressive Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1990 to 2003, and served in the House of Commons of Canada as a Liberal from 2004 to early 2006. Gary Carr is currently the Chair of the Regional Municipality of Halton. Background Carr has a certificate in Business Administration from Ryerson University, and was a businessman and sales manager in the transportation industry before entering public life. He continued his education as a politician, and received an MBA from Athabasca University in 2002. Carr also played professional ice hockey for five years in the farm teams of the Boston Bruins and Quebec Nordiques. In 1975, he was a Memorial Cup champion as a member of the Toronto Marlboros. Gary Carr (born 11 December 1986) is an English actor, dancer, singer, and musician known for his works on screen and stage. He has had main character roles in BBC TV series '' Death in Paradise'' and US TV series '' The Deuce''. He is also known for playing American Jazz singer Jack Ross in the ITV historical drama ''Downton Abbey''. Education Carr began training at the National Youth Music Theatre of Great Britain, then trained at the Arts Educational Schools from 2003 through 2005, and then at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art from 2005 to 2008 with a scholarship from the Leverhulme Trust.
